Peterborough human hounds!
The human dog race is back and is held over a period of 3 weeks with the heats on different night different night launching summer 2009, dates to be confirmed. This event challenges runners to complete half a lap of the greyhound track, dressed in dog costumes!, to aim to raise £6,000 for your local hospice – Sue Ryder Care, Thorpe Hall Hospice.
The human dog race is supported by EPS magazine and has two aspects to it. Firstly teams can participate in the races raising sponsorship money for taking part and secondly local companies can be corporate sponsors of the event advertising their company or organisation and helping the charity at the same time. Ideally we like companies to do both but they do not have to.
With dog costumes provided, runners will certainly look the part as they race against fellow ‘dogs’ to the finishing line with spectators able to place bets on their favourites to win. This is set to be a great event and all we ask from runners is that they have fun and ask all their friends, family and colleagues to sponsor them for taking part.
